I feel like Mitt Romney is a doer. He has been successful in helping people get health insurance... helped straighten out the mess with the Salt Lake City Olympics and knows about balancing a budget and implementing change... and helping the economy.

He's who I am most impressed with so far...

I think you are supporting Romney because he is LDS. You said it yourself, "What's so wrong with having faith, and having a man of God in the White House?" I'm not saying you automatically voiced support for him, that much is obvious. From what you've written, your only hesitation for voicing support, was what people would think because of your faith and making assumptions that it was automatic . . . because of your faith. And the reason I quoted above was all the reason you gave for your support, that and change, but, what change?

Perhaps your support wasn't automatic, but appears eventual . . .

Please be aware that I am LDS too.

What change would Romeny bring? How can he make the promise of change? Do we have any evidence that Congress would work, support, or even get along with Romeny? Without Congress change is minimal if at all possible.

Here's some of the problems . . .

1. Having a, "man of god," in the White House is an issue for Americans. That is why we fought, bled and died for seperation of Religion and State hundreds of years ago. England used God to oppress men and conquer nations. Men are too easily corrupted.

2. Whether Romeny carries a recommend or not, you and I haven't the foggiest idea if Romney is a, "man of god."

3. Romney is prideful. When he was thumped by his peers, namely McCain, he fired right back and got right down on their level, in other words, played the game . . . He doesn't seem any different from the others, at all, to me . . . A man handing out assurances he can't possibly promise to keep, in exchange for support in the form of votes. He also used his celebtration speech to hammer McCain, which was a little class-less. He also flip flops. He also said Bush was doing a great job . . . I seriously question that. Bush came of like an old English king in his conquest of Iraq.

I'll tell you this, since you asked, I'd vote for Ron Paul. If he makes it to Maryland, I'll vote for him. He has always talked and used his congressional vote to make and support change.

Also, Ron Paul understands the economy. From listening to Romney, he knows enough to play the game, but not enough to actually cure any of our economical diseases. Listening to him talk about health care revealed one thing . . . he's rich, and doesn't understand the first thing about anyone who isn't, or, how to help less fortunate people obtain health care.

These are just my opinions, and I would encourage anyone to vote for the man they are sure is right. So far, your only evidence for Romney being right is, you think he is a man of God and you have faith, so, why not have Romeny, a man who shares the same beliefs, in the White House? I'll tell you why. That is not nearly a good enough reason. Romney, from his own speeches and arguments, will bring change, just like any other candidate. The change he'll bring is that he'll have his own unique way of doing the same old thing, according to his own perspective and not according to what is really needed.

Will Romney improve things a little? Maybe, but, that wouldn't be hard to do.

I think that Mitt Romney it a great person and is right on track on a lot of issues. One of my concerns however is his position on abortion. He says that his political position is "pro-choice" but that he is "pro-life". I know we all have our free agency, and that is very important, but when one persons actions result in a victim having no choice at all, where is the justice in that? The person having the abortion doesn't face jail like a typical murderer would.
